The TJX Companies has reportedly elected Craig A. Pintoff to its board of directors, effective immediately, according to FashionUnited UK. The group, which owns the TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Homesense and Sierra banners in the États-Unis, as well as Winners and TK Maxx internationally, operates more than 5,200 stores across ten countries.
Craig A. Pintoff is executive vice president and chief administrative officer at United Rentals, a group specialising in equipment rental, where he oversees human resources, legal, safety and environment, as well as the group's charitable foundation. He joined United Rentals in 2003 and has held several leadership positions there.
Carol Meyrowitz, executive chair of the board of TJX Companies, said that Pintoff brings "une expérience approfondie en gestion du capital humain, développement des talents et leadership organisationnel, ainsi qu'une expertise solide en gestion des risques, conformité réglementaire, opérations internationales et gouvernance d'entreprise". She added that "son expérience de gestion étendue et sa perspective stratégique apporteront un éclairage précieux au conseil de TJX".
The group also cited Pintoff's experience in human and organisational management, risk management and compliance, international operations, information technology and strategic planning.
A board dominated by executive leadership
Carol Meyrowitz chairs the board of TJX Companies; she served as chief executive officer from 2007 to 2016 and has held the position of executive chair since. Ernie Herrman has been chief executive officer and president of the group since 2016, and a director since 2015. Both are classified as non-independent directors as executive officers of the company.
Solid financial results
According to FashionUnited UK, TJX Companies reported annual revenue of more than 60 billion dollars for fiscal year 2026, which ended on January 31. Fourth-quarter net revenue reached 17.7 billion dollars, up 9%. Adjusted diluted earnings per share for the year came to 4.73 dollars, up 11%.
The board of directors raised the quarterly dividend by 13% and set a share buyback authorisation of between 2.5 and 2.75 billion dollars for the current fiscal year. TJX Companies employed approximately 249,000 people at the end of its last reported fiscal year.
