Samsonite Group is said to be preparing to acquire 85 percent of Béis for $178.5 million, according to FashionUnited UK. The deal would value the travel and lifestyle brand at approximately $210 million.
Founded in 2018 by actress and entrepreneur Shay Mitchell, Béis is said to have generated approximately $210 million in revenue in 2025. The brand claims more than 1.4 million followers on Instagram and 619,000 on TikTok. Lifestyle bags are said to account for approximately 50 percent of its sales.
Shay Mitchell would retain a 15 percent stake and would remain founder as well as head of creative and design. Béis would continue to operate as a standalone brand, under the leadership of its CEO Adeela Hussain Johnson and her existing executive team.
« They're truly the perfect partner - our strengths complement each other so well, together we can take Béis places we couldn't have on our own », Shay Mitchell said, as quoted by FashionUnited UK.
Global distribution and timeline
Samsonite's PDG, Kyle Gendreau, said the deal would support the strengthening of the group's digital capabilities to support its multichannel growth and expansion into lifestyle bags. Samsonite plans to use its global distribution, sourcing and logistics infrastructure to introduce Béis to new markets and new consumers.
L'acquisition would be financed through cash and available borrowing capacity. Its closing is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions.
