Morten Linnet takes up the post of chief executive of Baum und Pferdgarten, the Copenhagen-based fashion house, this month. He succeeds Teis Werring Bruun, who left the CEO role in January after nine years.

Before joining Baum und Pferdgarten, Morten Linnet led the Danish brand Skall Studio for around two years. His career was built at IC Group, where he worked for nearly nine years in human resources, most recently as senior vice president of HR and group transformation, before heading By Malene Birger for more than five years.

« Baum und Pferdgarten est l'une des maisons de mode les plus solides du Danemark et est extrêmement bien positionnée, tant sur le plan créatif que commercial », a écrit Morten Linnet. He added: « Je me réjouis de collaborer avec l'équipe pour exploiter le potentiel international considérable de l'entreprise. »

A house rooted in Copenhague, geared towards export

Fondée in 1999 by Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave, the brand blends typical Scandinavian minimalism with bright colours, bold prints and romantic details. It remains a permanent fixture of Copenhague Fashion Week. Since 2019, its majority shareholder has been the Oslo-based investment firm Verdane.

According to the brand, Baum und Pferdgarten operates in more than 30 countries through around 400 distribution partners. It has its own flagship store and online shop in the Danish capital, in addition to its international wholesale distribution, supported by agencies and showrooms in Allemagne, Pays-Bas, Suède, Norvège, Espagne, Italie, Royaume-Uni, the United States, and Japon, as well as its own showroom in Copenhague.

On its online shop, basic tank tops and t-shirts start at 59 euros, blouses at 129 euros, jeans at 139 euros and cardigans at 169 euros. The new leadership will now have to turn this positioning into concrete international growth.
