Kering would have appointed Sophie Maddaloni to the position of general secretary, a role effective since 15 September 2026, according to information reported by FashionUnited UK. Based in Paris, the executive would join the executive committee and report directly to Jean-Marc Duplaix, the group's chief operating officer.
According to a statement sent to FashionUnited, Sophie Maddaloni would be tasked with steering the luxury group's governance and ensuring the protection of its interests. She would oversee several key departments: legal, internal control, internal audit and security.
Sophie Maddaloni began her career in 1991 at Elf Aquitaine, before joining Alstom T&D in 2002 as vice-president of tax, then the Technip group in 2004 to head its tax and legal entities. She joined Kering in 2017 as the group's tax director. She would hold a master's degree in business law from Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas, as well as a DESS in international business law and taxation from HEC Paris and the Université de Sceaux.
This appointment comes as Kering, a group of 44,000 employees that generated revenue of 14.7 billion euros in 2025, continues to make changes within its organisation. Charlotte Fournet becomes chief executive of Pomellato, while Krizia Cucurachi takes on the same role at DoDo. The two executives were appointed a few months after the launch of Kering Jewelry, the group's new jewelry organisation.
