Kering and the Indian company Reliance Brands Limited (RBL) are said to have signed a memorandum of understanding to launch the Kering Generation Award in Inde for the first time, according to FashionUnited France. The programme, created in 2018 in partnership with Plug and Play China as part of the initiative « Crafting Tomorrow's Luxury », has already been rolled out in Chine, Japon and the Moyen-Orient and Afrique du Nord region.

This first Indian edition would reportedly focus on identifying startups developing circular solutions that contribute to resource preservation. The initiative would be associated with the R|Elan Circular Design Challenge, organised with the Nations Unies in Inde, which would act as exclusive nomination partner.

The memorandum is said to have been signed at Kering's Paris headquarters by Marie-Claire Daveu, chief sustainability and institutional affairs officer of the group, and Jaspreet Chandok, vice-president of RBL. « Étendre le Kering Generation Award à l'Inde est une étape naturelle et stratégique dans notre mission de soutenir des startups à impact visionnaire qui façonnent l'avenir du luxe », she said.

The official awards ceremony is planned to take place at the French embassy, during Delhi fashion week, on 13 October 2026, coinciding with the Franco-Indian Année of innovation.
