Études Studio is going through a court-ordered restructuring phase. According to WWD, Yesterday SAS, the company operating the brand, was placed in court-ordered receivership on September 9. The date of cessation of payments was set at August 4, and the court's observation period is to run until March 9.

The accounts for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025 show the scale of the financial difficulties: a net loss of 2.19 million euros, against just 179,000 euros of available cash versus financial debt of 2.34 million euros. As of March 31, 2024, Yesterday SAS's shareholders' equity had already fallen below half of its share capital.

In an attempt to right the ship, the company had carried out several capital increases, notably in early 2025, with some shares settled through the offset of existing claims against the company. Co-founder José Lamali had left the company in April of last year. Two hires followed: Marie Amalou, a former P.C executive, as digital director, and Sébastien Mandel, a finance veteran from Dior and Hermès, who joined in September 2025 to build a roadmap targeting revenue growth multiplied by five by 2030.

Against this backdrop, the five-year creative partnership between Études Studio and the French outdoor brand Aigle has come to an end, a collaboration that began in 2020 when Études Studio was named artistic director of Aigle and concluded with the spring-summer 2026 collection Aigle Experience by Études Studio. According to Arbet, the brand continued shipping to the États-Unis but was impacted by American tariffs.

A new stage claimed

In a statement sent to WWD, co-founders Aurélien Arbet and Jérémie Egry say that the brand is using this period to « réévaluer et remodeler son activité », while continuing to develop its digital business and prepare the launch of new fall-winter 2026 products. They state that Études Studio is actively searching for a new investor to support its future development, and that the goal is to complete the restructuring process by the end of 2026, at the latest.

The brand had presented its spring-summer 2027 show at Paris Men's Fashion Week in June.
