Erin Magee appears to have left Supreme, according to FashionUnited France, after 22 years spent with the New York streetwear brand. She most recently held the position of creative director there.

Magee had joined Supreme in 2004 and had held several positions there before rising to creative director. On Mardi, she posted a farewell message on Instagram: « Ce fut l'honneur de ma vie de faire partie de la World Famous Supreme Team. Merci beaucoup. »

A dual career between Supreme and MadeMe

Alongside her work at Supreme, Magee had founded MadeMe in 2007, a New York-based label, one of the first streetwear labels driven by an explicitly female and queer perspective. The brand notably collaborated with Vans, Converse, Nike, Dr. Martens and X-Girl.

A sensitive position since Emory's departure

The position of creative director at Supreme remains marked by a turbulent recent history. In February 2022, the brand appointed a creative director for the first time in its history, Tremaine Emory, founder of Denim Tears. Emory stepped down from the position in August 2023, accusing the company of structural racism in his resignation letter, accusations that Supreme rejected. The position has not been officially filled since.

Since October 2024, Supreme has belonged to the Franco-Italian eyewear group EssilorLuxottica, which bought the brand from VF Corporation for 1.5 billion dollars. FashionUnited contacted EssilorLuxottica, Supreme's parent company, for further information about Magee's departure and the future of the creative director position.
