Designer Exchange, the British platform for reselling second-hand luxury fashion, is reported to have opened its second permanent store in Spain, according to FashionUnited UK. The new outlet is said to be located at 230 Carrer del Rosselló, in Barcelone.

This new store would be the brand's second permanent location in Espagne, where it first set foot more than ten years ago. The first Spanish store is located at 39 Calle de Lagasca, in the Salamanca district of Madrid.

According to FashionUnited UK, Computer Exchange (CeX)'s presence and knowledge of the Spanish market are said to have given Designer Exchange an advantage in Espagne that it would not have had in France or Italie. Designer Exchange was founded in 2013 as an independent second-hand fashion resale chain of CeX.

A strategic location

The new Barcelona store is said to be located on the perpendicular stretch between the Rambla de Catalunya and the Passeig de Gràcia, alongside houses such as Balenciaga, Valentino, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel and Gucci. L'enseigne would offer clothing, bags, shoes, accessories and jewellery from brands such as Hermès, Loewe, Prada and Celine.

Dominic Durante, co-founder and managing director of Designer Exchange, said that « la réponse à notre magasin de Madrid a été incroyablement encourageante, et en réponse, Barcelone était l'étape suivante naturelle pour nous ». He said he was « ravi d'apporter l'expérience Designer Exchange à l'une des grandes villes de la mode européenne », describing Barcelone as an « endroit idéal pour continuer à faire grandir notre communauté ». He also spoke of the goal of « rendre le luxe de seconde main authentique accessible à un public plus large ».

Accélération in the Royaume-Uni too

In 2026, Designer Exchange is said to have decided to speed up its pace of openings in Espagne and the Royaume-Uni. The platform had opened a new store in Newcastle at the start of June, bringing, according to the report, its British network to five stores, alongside Manchester, Birmingham, Cheshire and Londres, where the brand has a shop in Knightsbridge, the district of its very first store, opened in 2013.

After this second opening in Espagne, Designer Exchange is said to be leaving the door open to expansion into new European countries, with no concrete plan defined at this stage.
