Decathlon will open three new stores in the province of Barcelona under its City format, according to FashionUnited France. These openings would be spread across the L'Eixample district in Barcelone, the Splau shopping centre in Cornellà de Llobregat, and the Sants district.

The three stores would open their doors in stages between August and September. This expansion would allow the retailer to reach 20 stores in the province of Barcelone and bring its network to 30 stores across Catalogne.

Création d'emplois annoncée

The opening of these stores is expected to result in the creation of more than 40 jobs, according to the same source. »

Un marché espagnol stratégique

The retailer closed its 2025 fiscal year in the country with net revenue of 1.99 billion euros and net profit of 84 million euros, up 17.37%, though still below the 123 million euros recorded in 2023. Decathlon operates 176 stores in Espagne, which remains its second-largest market worldwide and accounts for 11.2% of the group's net sales.

Globally, Decathlon currently employs more than 100,000 people and has a network of 1,900 stores, according to the press release cited by FashionUnited France.
