Chalhoub Group would have joined Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) as Associate Partner, according to an article by FashionUnited UK. The announcement is said to have come during the Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition 2026, and the alliance was presented during the session titled « Building the Future: From Leadership to Legacy ».
Chalhoub Group, a luxury retailer based in the United Arab Emirates, highlights more than seven decades of experience in luxury retail in the Moyen-Orient. GFA, an organisation based in Danemark, for its part claims a global ecosystem built over more than fifteen years, bringing together executives, policymakers and innovators around international forums and impact initiatives.
A strategic reading of the Golfe market
GFA's chief executive, Federica Marchionni, stated that the Golfe region is no longer on the periphery of fashion's transformation but is becoming its centre, with Chalhoub Group, in her view, having earned this market's trust over seventy years, across some of the most complex value chains and some of the most demanding consumers in the world. She added that combining this regional foothold with GFA's global ecosystem would help turn ambition into measurable systemic change.
Côté Chalhoub Group, chief sustainability officer Florence Bulté stressed that sustainability is becoming an essential driver of long-term resilience, responsible leadership and business evolution, emphasising a collective approach rather than a standalone initiative. She also highlighted the role of the partnership with GFA in fostering dialogue and knowledge-sharing across the group's ecosystem.
A trajectory already underway
The rapprochement is part of a momentum begun with Chalhoub Group's launch of its strategic environmental platform « Planet FWD », introduced in its Sustainability Report 2025 and structured around three pillars: Net-Zero FWD, Circularity FWD and Nature FWD. The group also states a carbon neutrality ambition called Net Zero 2040.
Against this backdrop, the fashion industry's attention is shifting from direct operations towards value chains, where the main environmental impacts are concentrated, according to the article. Chalhoub Group plans to expand its circular business practices and support nature-positive outcomes, while deepening engagement with its suppliers.
