Massimo Piombini, chairman and chief executive officer of the Italian luxury accessories supplier Cadicagroup, has been appointed to the board of directors of Canada Goose effective August 7, 2026, according to FashionUnited France. His election took place the same day during the company's annual and special meeting of shareholders, held online.
Massimo Piombini is said to have garnered 99.98% of the votes, the highest score among the ten candidates running, according to the same source. His appointment brings the board back to ten members, following the retirement of director Stephen Gunn in November 2025, which had reduced the number to nine.
Since early 2025, Massimo Piombini has led Cadicagroup, a specialist in labels, hang tags and packaging for luxury and premium brands, based in Carpi, Italie, and owned by the investment firm H.I.G. Capital. His career includes a stint as chief executive officer of Diesel, the denim brand of the OTB group, to which he was appointed in December 2019. He had previously led the French fashion house Balmain for nearly three years.
His experience also includes positions as chief strategy officer at the Italian wellness equipment manufacturer Technogym, as well as chief commercial officer at Valentino and at the Swiss leather goods brand Bally, after holding roles at Boucheron, Gucci and Bulgari. He also sits on the board of directors of the Italian sports nutrition group Enervit.
An appointment welcomed by management
« Massimo a été un précieux conseiller pour notre entreprise grâce à son travail au sein du conseil d'administration de Canada Goose International, et nous sommes ravis de l'accueillir au sein de notre conseil d'administration », Dani Reiss, chairman and chief executive officer of Canada Goose, is reported to have said, according to FashionUnited France.
For his part, Massimo Piombini reportedly stated that he had been « le témoin direct de la force de la marque, de sa culture et de ses ambitions à long terme », adding that he looked forward to supporting the company in pursuing its global growth, still according to the same source.
