Blue Elephant, a South Korean eyewear brand, has opened its first regional flagship store in the États-Unis, in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. L'enseigne is located at 300 N. Beverly Drive and occupies a 7,000-square-foot space, according to the FashionUnited UK article.
L'ouverture coincides with the launch of the LA Exclusive Collection, which includes 10 models available only at this store and draws inspiration from the city's landscape and culture. This new store extends the retail philosophy already deployed by Blue Elephant in Corée du Sud and Japon, where retail spaces reflect the architectural and cultural identity of the city in which they are located.
Founded in 2019, the brand now operates 36 stores. It experienced a notable legal episode: in 2024, Blue Elephant found itself at the centre of a long-running dispute with the Korean brand Gentle Monster, which accused it of deliberately imitating its products. L'ancien PDG of the brand, Choi Jin-woo, was arrested and charged with importing and selling products copying those of Gentle Monster. Blue Elephant had described the accusations at the time as a « typical intellectual property dispute ».
Since then, the brand has unveiled a new product range and a rebranding strategy. Blue Elephant plans to use this location as a strategic hub for its development in the US market.
