Shazmeen Malik, director of partner brands and marketplace at Asos, is reportedly leaving her role effective 31 August, according to information from Drapers. She had joined the group in March 2024, after nearly 15 years spent leading merchandising and buying divisions for North American retailers: Gap between 2010 and 2014, American Eagle Outfitters between 2014 and 2020, then Macy's between 2020 and 2022.

This departure is not an isolated case. According to Drapers, it forms part of a recent series of changes within Asos's leadership, as part of its ongoing turnaround strategy. On the same day, 31 August, executive vice-president customer and commercial Ben Blake and executive vice-president of technology Przemek Czarnecki are also reportedly leaving the company.

A cascading reorganisation

Pending the appointment of successors, several executives are reportedly taking on the responsibilities left vacant. Bernadette Sullivan, director of Face & Body at Asos, would take over partner brands on an interim basis. Liam Giffard, director of global merchandise planning, would take on Malik's responsibilities for flexible fulfilment, bringing the « Partner Fulfils » and « Asos Fulfilment Services » (AFS) supply chain models together under a single management structure.

Chief financial officer Aaron Izzard would in turn take on Ben Blake's responsibilities, while Ras Vaghjiani, recently promoted, would cover for Przemek Czarnecki on an interim basis. The search for successors for these last two positions is reportedly under way, according to Drapers.

A financial turnaround under way

These moves come as Asos reduced its operating loss by 52% over the six-month period ended 1 March 2026, to £100.9 million. The group's adjusted revenue nonetheless fell 14% on a comparable basis, to £1.13 billion.

Asos states that the changes within its leadership team come as part of a shift in its transformation, now focused on growth and on « delivering for customers ». The group also unveiled its new autumn/winter 26 campaign last week, on 14 August, alongside the relaunch of its in-house magazine.
