Nike would have appointed Jane Ewing to the position of executive vice president and chief commercial officer, effective September 7, 2026, according to FashionUnited France. This executive would report directly to Elliott Hill, president and chief executive officer of Nike, and would join the group's executive leadership team.

In her new role, Jane Ewing would lead the global marketplace organisation, which encompasses sales and Nike Direct. Gail Cornelius, vice president of geography and marketplace analytics, would report to her.

A career spanning retail and consumer goods

Jane Ewing would bring more than 20 years of international leadership experience in retail, consumer goods, operations and sustainability. She would join Nike after nearly 14 years at Walmart, where she most recently held the position of interim chief executive officer of Sam's Club Chine. There, she oversaw a membership business worth several billion dollars, spread across 30 cities. She would also have led one of the largest global divisions of the British beverage group Diageo.

Accelerating direct-to-consumer and wholesale

This appointment would come as Nike continues its operational turnaround, strengthening its product pipeline, expanding its wholesale partnerships and integrated marketplace strategies, and boosting growth in its direct-to-consumer and retail operations.
