According to Footwear News, Miu Miu and New Balance unveiled the New Balance RC150 sneaker at the Miu Miu show held on Sunday at the Palais d'Iéna, in Paris. The show's set had been transformed into an arena, with a floor inspired by purple athletics tracks and stadium-style stands.
The RC150 is a discreet running sneaker dating back to the 1990s, according to Footwear News, which reportedly takes its name from its lightweight 150-gram design. Other models, including Billy Elliot actor Jamie Bell, wore the shoe on the runway. Miuccia Prada once again turned everyday sportswear pieces into haute couture silhouettes, such as the sports bra worn inside out by Hadid and paired with an embellished skirt.
A collaboration already recognised
New Balance and Miu Miu reportedly received the FN's Collaboration of the Year Award in 2025, according to Footwear News. The month before the article was published, Miu Miu had unveiled new iterations of the New Balance 530 SL, presented as the duo's best-selling collaboration. Coco Gauff wore a special version of the Miu Miu x Coco Gauff New Balance 530 SL at Wimbledon this summer, and continues to represent the partnership.
Asked about the reasons behind this partnership, Lorenzo Bertelli, chief marketing officer and head of corporate social responsibility at the Prada group, explained that New Balance's independence echoed his group's philosophy: « New Balance est restée indépendante pendant plus d'un siècle, ce qui est rare dans cette industrie. Cela leur permet de penser sur le long terme, de privilégier l'intégrité et la qualité plutôt que des objectifs à court terme. C'est une philosophie que nous partageons au sein du groupe Prada, et c'est l'une des raisons pour lesquelles ce partenariat nous semble si cohérent. »
