Nike reportedly plans to release the Nike Ja 4 High during the holiday season, at a retail price of $180, according to Footwear News. The model would be available on nike.com as well as at select Nike Basketball retailers.
The first reports about the Nike Ja 4 emerged in March, already with details pointing to a high-top version. But the official unveiling of the model, in July, made no mention of a High variant at the time. It was Ja Morant, the Portland Trail Blazers' new star, who reportedly finally revealed a first look at the shoe via his Instagram stories, on a Friday, in a colorway dominated by University Red.
The full colorway presented reportedly combines University Red, Medium Olive, Bright Crimson, Cobalt Bliss and Black, under style code IQ3864-600. The upper would be covered with triangular knots across its entire surface, in a design said to recall the Nike Ja 3 and the Nike Caitlin 1. The fully wrapped construction would also evoke Nike classics such as the Zoom Flight 98 The Glove.
The player's signature TPU « Ja-Frame » wing, which spells out his name while providing structural stability to the shoe, would be retained on this high-top version. The technical specifications have not yet been revealed, but they should likely remain comparable to those of the standard Ja 4, with the addition of the high collar remaining the main visible difference.
The choice of a high-top version is not insignificant for Ja Morant. After an ankle injury in 2020, the player had tweeted: « High top Kobes the rest of the year ». D'autres details on the Nike Ja 4 High are expected to be revealed soon.
