Marco Viganò is the new chief executive officer of Jil Sander, according to FashionUnited France and The Industry.fashion. His appointment is effective immediately and he takes up his role this Tuesday.
He reports directly to Ubaldo Minelli, chief executive officer of OTB group, who led Jil Sander on an interim basis during the transition period. According to WWD, cited by The Industry.fashion, this interim period had been in place since Serge Brunschwig's departure in July 2025.
A months-long interim period
Serge Brunschwig had left the company on 31 July 2025 for personal reasons. He had joined Jil Sander in February 2025 as chief executive officer, while also holding the position of chief strategy officer of OTB group. He left both roles after six months, with Ubaldo Minelli then taking over his responsibilities on an interim basis.
On the creative side, Simone Bellotti succeeded Luke and Lucie Meier after joining the brand as creative director in March 2025, arriving from Bally. He presented the brand's second collection for autumn-winter 2026.
A career between luxury and consulting
Marco Viganò joins Jil Sander from Moncler, where he held the position of worldwide chief client officer and EMEA president. He had previously been commercial director at Audemars Piguet and chief operating officer at Saint Laurent. His career also includes stints at Louis Vuitton, Gucci and L'Oréal, across Europe, Asie, Moyen-Orient and Russie, as well as experience at McKinsey & Company. He holds a degree in business and economics from the Université Catholique of Milan.
In a statement cited by FashionUnited France, Ubaldo Minelli welcomed the new executive's arrival: « Jil Sander est une marque dotée d'un héritage créatif et d'une identité distinctive qui la rendent unique dans le paysage mondial du luxe. »
Jil Sander is controlled by OTB group, founded by Renzo Rosso, which also owns Diesel, Maison Margiela, Marni and Viktor & Rolf. The new executive leadership arrives just as the brand has presented its second collection under the creative direction of Simone Bellotti.
