GapStudio presented its fall 2026 collection on Friday, according to WWD. The wardrobe, said to comprise twenty pieces combining men's and women's styles, was designed by Zac Posen, executive vice president and chief creative officer of Gap Inc.
The women's pieces designed by Posen will be offered in twenty stores around the world. The men's offer, more limited, will be reserved for three American addresses: Flatiron in New York, Chestnut Street in San Francisco and The Grove in Los Angeles. The line will also be distributed in a selection of international markets in Europe and the Moyen-Orient, as well as in Taïwan, Japon and Mexico, and online via Zalando.
GapStudio is presented as an upscale segment intended to reinforce the brand's reputation for style and craftsmanship. Zac Posen places this collection in continuity with previous ones: « GapStudio connects to an incredible vocabulary of American Essentials », he stated, describing his strategy of progressively building the collections.
Denim occupies a central place in this new offer. « We’re leaning into being a denim-focused core fabric, which is a core of Gap brand », Zac Posen specified, now calling himself « fully a denim head ». An asymmetric two-piece denim jacket for men and a loose utility jean are said to draw on the customized GapStudio design worn by Leon Thomas during his performance at the Grammy Awards 2026. « I love something that starts as a performance piece and ends up in real life », the designer explained about this piece.
The campaign features models Esther McGregor and Alton Mason, described as a friend of the brand. Zac Posen joined Gap Inc. in February 2024; he speaks of two and a half years spent in this role, after starting out in fashion in 1996 as an intern. Before the launch of the first GapStudio collection, a customized corset dress for Anne Hathaway and a made-to-measure dress for Da'Vine Joy Randolph made their debut in 2024.
The project has the support of Mark Breitbard, global head of the Gap brand, Richard Dickson, president and chief executive officer of Gap Inc., and Jane Pattinson, senior vice president and global head of design for the Gap brand.
