Donatella Versace has reportedly entered into a joint venture with Revolve Group with a view to creating an independent fashion and beauty brand, according to Retail Gazette.
Donatella Versace would hold the role of chief creative officer at this new venture, still unnamed, alongside Revolve. The first product launch is planned for 2027, with initial marketing targeting the États-Unis, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and the Moyen-Orient.
A turning point after leaving the creative direction
Donatella Versace had led creative direction at Versace for nearly three decades before becoming chief brand ambassador in March 2025. The tie-up with Revolve comes around 18 months after she stepped down as creative director of the Maison founded by her brother Gianni.
Entre-temps, Prada Group acquired Versace from Capri Holdings in 2025, for approximately 1.3 billion euros. Pieter Mulier, former creative director of Alaïa, was subsequently appointed to lead creative direction at the Italian Maison.
A new creative platform
In remarks reported by Retail Gazette, Donatella Versace explains that this partnership gives her « la liberté de m'adresser à cette génération d'une manière entièrement nouvelle et personnelle, à travers la beauté et la mode ». Michael Mente, co-founder and co-chief executive of Revolve, says for his part that the agreement gives Versace's creative vision « une toute nouvelle plateforme et la liberté de tout construire à partir de zéro ».
The new venture's name and its first products are expected to be unveiled in the coming months.
