Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran are said to be ending their collaboration with Uniqlo, according to FashionUnited France. The two designers of the Lemaire label are reportedly signing their last collection this season for the Uniqlo U line, which they created.
Their partnership with the fast fashion retailer is said to have begun in 2016. Since then, the designers have been designing men's and women's collections for Uniqlo, made up of « fondamentaux du vestiaire contemporain ». The collaboration is thus said to have lasted ten years.
The final collection, for the autumn-winter 2026 season, is expected to be distributed from 11 September 2026. According to Uniqlo, this departure would not mark the end of the line: « Alors que ce premier chapitre se referme, Uniqlo U poursuivra son évolution et ouvrira une nouvelle page de son histoire », the retailer states in a press release sent to FashionUnited.
A turning point driven by Lemaire
The reason for this departure is said to be explained by the growth of the designers' own brand, Lemaire. Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran are now said to intend to focus on its development.
The two designers are said to consider these ten years as one of the most significant chapters of their career. « Travailler avec Uniqlo et construire ensemble l’équipe ainsi que le concept d’Uniqlo U a été une aventure passionnante », they are said to have stated. They also say they have « énormément appris aux côtés des remarquables équipes de design et de développement, en observant cette passion très japonaise pour la qualité ainsi que cette recherche constante de perfection et d’amélioration. »
